Branden Harris, Staff Accountant

Branden graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with a degree in Accounting and Finance. He began his career in public accounting. Later, he transitioned to corporate finance and private equity. But he realized he missed working directly with people and small businesses. That desire led him to join Van Engelen CPAs in 2026, where he enjoys building relationships, supporting people, and helping business owners navigate the financial side of what they’ve worked hard to build.

Branden often describes himself as a blue-collar guy in a white-collar world. Growing up in construction, he has a firsthand understanding of the challenges small business owners face and a deep appreciation for the grit, resilience, and hard work it takes to keep a business running.

Originally born and raised in Northern Nevada, Branden and his wife moved to the Magic Valley in 2021 in search of a smaller community and a better place to raise their family. They quickly fell in love with the area and now proudly call it home. Outside of work, Branden and his family stay busy with their small farm, raising goats and horses, and supporting their kids in 4-H and other community activities.

With experience across public accounting, corporate finance, government, and small business operations, Branden brings a practical, well-rounded approach to helping clients with tax, accounting, and financial planning needs. He looks forward to meeting you!
